I studied English. Close reading turns out to be useful preparation for a career spent asking what people mean when they say something “basically works.”

Enterprise architecture gave me a way to connect that attention to the structure of an organization. Automation taught me to carry a design into the work people actually do.

AI adds a remarkable capability: software can increasingly understand what it is working with. My job is figuring out what that changes inside your company and making the change real.

I help established owner-led companies become AI-native without starting over. We begin with the work, identify an economically credible opportunity and prove one change. A continuing engagement gives me responsibility for the priorities, delivery, adoption and results.

Businesses accumulate old decisions and unofficial procedures. The people doing the work learn how to compensate. Their knowledge often explains both why the current system survives and why it costs so much attention.

I want to understand the field nobody trusts and the exception that stopped being unusual two years ago. Good design preserves that knowledge and gives it a better structure.

At Brand New Colors, I build browser games for specific communities and audiences. Understanding a world well enough to model its actual rules is a familiar kind of work.

I live in Austin with my family. I write and make things. Mostly, I like getting close enough to a problem that someone can point at the strange part and say, “There. That’s the thing.”
